Welcome to
"Arizona Lawn Mower Racing Association"

"How the West was Mow'ed"
Below is an excerpt from a letter written by Michael Bonneville, who orginally started AZLMRA in 2003

"In 2000, I moved to Peoria, Arizona, developed a new team, secured a sponsor who put a pile of money into the program and we built a new racer with more horsepower and different chassis setup. Basically it was a whole new game to me.

Recently I have started a local association, called the Arizona Lawn Mower Racing Association. The racing I have done all over this country has been great, but I thought why not race here at home where I want to live, where my sponsor could benefit from my racing and where it won't cost bundles of money to drive to a race.

Unlike any other sport, lawn mower racing is by far a media darling. The media loves writing and publishing stories about lawn mower racing. For instance my name or picture has appeared in the Arizona Republic, Maxim Magazine, Daily News-Sun, etc. I know some people only get their names in the paper 3 times (birth, marriage and death but I feel honored and blessed that I have had the opportunity to have been in several publications including recently the nation's 2nd largest publication, USA Today.

With all that, I believe you can understand if I were to say, "I have a passion for the sport of lawn mower racing" that I sincerely mean it
."

Today, AZLMRA, is still mow'ing and growing strong, 30+ members, covering four classes of mowers: SS, GP, CP and BP. The group races at county fairs, demolition derbies, motor parks and any other motorized event.
